LA KISS UPSET FIRST PLACE AND UNDEFEATED SAN JOSE SABERCATS IN A AMAZING OVERTIME VICTORY 

LA KISS PULL OFF ONE OF THE GREATEST UPSETS IN AFL HISTORY 

Los Angeles, CA  (June 14th, 2015) – The LA KISS of the Arena Football League (AFL) took down the first place San Jose SaberCats Saturday evening in a remarkable overtime victory, 48-42. The game took place on the home turf of the SaberCats in San Jose at the SAP Center.  The LA KISS handed the undefeated SaberCats their first loss of the season, as they tacked on their 2nd win of the season. The LA KISS also snapped their 14-game road losing streak.

“This is a huge win for the organization and most importantly our fans,” said Joe Windham, CEO of the LA KISS. “Our team has been working incredibly hard every day and it is great to see it paying off.”

Danny Southwick had an incredible game throwing for 285 yards and 5 touchdowns, including the game winner in overtime to DeMarc Sampson. Sampson finished the game with 8 receptions for 106 yards alongside Donovan Morgan who had 9 receptions for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns. The team outscored the SaberCats in the second half 27-14.

Week 11 AFL MVP, Rayshaun Kizer, had 2 interceptions including one that was returned for a touchdown in the 4th quarter to take the lead. This play was also called the “Highlight of the Game”. Kizer now has 4 interceptions in his past two games. J.T. Gilmore and Logan Harrell also came up big on the defensive side of the ball with 2 sacks each.

The LA KISS look to carry this momentum as they head home to play the first place team in the East Division, The Philadelphia Soul (10-2). The game will take place on Saturday, June 20th at 8:00pm at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
