LA KISS today announced the acquisition of wide receiver Donovan Morgan from the New Orleans Voodoo in exchange for Chase Deadder and a claim order spot.

At 6’3″ and 225-pounds, Morgan adds size and experience to the LA KISS receiving unit. During his AFL career, the physical receiver has amassed 7,318 yards and 168 touchdowns on 521 receptions.

“Donovan is an elite receiver. He is a proven player in this league and adding a player of his caliber is a big addition to our football team,” said Head Coach Bob McMillen. “We wish Chase the best of luck in New Orleans.”

Morgan came to the AFL after playing college ball at La Fayette. He is a former AFL Rookie of the Year (2008) and was selected as First-Team All-Arena in 2010 and Second-Team All-Arena in 2011, when he broke the Philadelphia Soul’s single-season franchise record for receiving yards (1,959). Last year with the VooDoo, Morgan caught 87 passes for 1,351 yards and 29 touchdowns in 13 games. He looks to build upon this productivity in his first season on the West Coast.
