DEFENSIVE ENDS DERRICK SUMMERS & RODNEY FRITZ HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED 

CHAD ANDERSON & KENNY SPENCER HAVE BEEN RETAINED

Los Angeles, CA  (November 11th, 2015) – The LA KISS have added four more players to their 2016 roster on Wedsnesday, with the retention of young talent including offensive lineman Chad Anderson and kicker Kenny Spencer, as well as the acquisition of defensive linemen Rodney Fritz and Derrick Summers.

“The addition of Derrick and Rodney, and the experience they bring will improve our defensive front,” said Omarr Smith, Head Coach of the LA KISS. “Derrick has proven he can play at a high level and Rodney has been very strong in his first two seasons in the AFL. ”

Summers, the 6’1, 265lbs, defensive end, originally from Southfield, Michigan, is now entering his5th season in the AFL. After graduating from the University of Toledo, Derrick spent three seasons with the Jacksonville Sharks and two seasons with the Spokane Shock. In his five-year career Summers has tallied up 35.5 sacks and 149 tackles.

Rodney Fritz, the 6’1”, 270lbs, defensive end, from Tennessee State comes to the LA KISS from the San Jose SaberCats. As a rookie, Fritz played in 9 games where he racked up 11 tackles and 5 sacks. Prior to joining the AFL, Fritz had spent time in the Canadian Football League where he played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2011-13) and the Toronto Argonauts (2013).

Spencer, the 6’1”, 220lbs, kicker, is entering his 5th season with the AFL. He attended the University of North Alabama where he excelled as the team’s place kicker, converting 63-of-66 PAT and finished 12-of-17 field goals as a senior. In Kenny’s rookie season in the AFL he was awarded “Kicker of the Year” and was an All-Arena selection.

Anderson, the 6’3”, 321lbs, offensive linemen, is originally from Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. He attended Northern Michigan University, where he was a three-time letterman and had 32-of 35 career starts in his final three years. Prior to coming to the LA KISS, Chad was with the Indianapolis Colts.
